SUMMARY:
The Construction Laborer supports construction projects by performing a variety of manual tasks to ensure job sites are safe, clean, and efficient. This role is essential to assisting skilled tradespeople and keeping projects on schedule.
Skilled Job Functions:

Follow directions provided by foreman as to daily construction-related tasks;

Utilize tools and equipment necessary to each job assignment;

Observe company policies and safe work practice guidelines, including, but not limited to those required by OSHA.

Clean and prepare construction sites to eliminate possible hazardous materials.

Load, unload and identify building materials, machinery, and tools and distribute them to the appropriate locations, according to project plans and specifications.

Mop, brush, and spread paints, cleaning solutions, or other compounds over surfaces to clean them or to provide protection.

Clean and maintain tools and other equipment.

Duties include sitting, standing, bending, reaching, walking during 8 hour shift; sometimes in extreme weather conditions.
Education & Skills:
-
High school diploma or General Education Degree (GED) is preferred

Previous related experience in the construction field

Knowledge of materials methods and tools involved in construction

Ability to read, write and do basic mathematical calculations
-
Ability to effectively communicate verbally and in writing;
-
Ability to use tools and equipment properly and safely;
-
Able to stand, walk, use hands and fingers to manipulate objects or controls, climb or balance, stoop, kneel, crouch, crawl talk and hear.

Vision abilities (with correction) including close, distance, peripheral, depth and the ability to adjust focus;

Able to work in all weather conditions;
-
The employee will frequently be required to walk, stand, sit, bend, climb, reach and use hands.

The employee will occasionally be required crawl, kneel and lift and/or move up to 50 lbs.
Other Requirements:
-
Utilization of personal protective equipment (PPE) in designated operations and production areas as required by OSHA. PPE required may include, but not be limited to, face shield, hard-toe safety shoes and coveralls.

Must be 18 years of age or older;

Must pass pre-employment screening

Minimum current OSHA 40-hour certification
-
Minimum current 4-hour supported scaffold user certification
