Overview
West Roots Tree Service is looking to add a dependable, hardworking Groundsman to our team. We are a locally owned tree service focused on safe, professional work and treating customers the right way.
This is physically demanding, year-round outdoor work with opportunities to learn, grow, and advance in the tree-care industry.
Responsibilities
- Dragging brush and performing jobsite cleanup
- Assisting climbers and equipment operators
- Operating chainsaws and equipment as trained
- Loading logs, brush, tools, and equipment
- Setting up cones, signs, and work zones
- Helping maintain clean and organized equipment and trucks
- Following all company safety procedures
- Raking yards and completing final site cleanup
Experience
Preferred, but Not Required
- Chainsaw experience
- Tree-service, landscaping, construction, or outdoor labor experience
- Valid driver’s license
- CDL or commercial driving experience
Requirements
- Dependable and able to arrive on time every day
- Reliable transportation
- Ability to work outdoors year-round in heat, cold, rain, snow, wind, and other changing weather conditions
- Ability to lift and move heavy material repeatedly throughout the day
- Positive attitude and willingness to learn
- Ability to work safely around chainsaws, wood chippers, heavy equipment, falling limbs, and other jobsite hazards
- Willingness to work until the scheduled job is completed
Schedule
Typical workdays are Monday through Friday. Employees are expected to arrive on time at the jobsite or designated meeting location. Start times vary depending on the job and may be as early as 6:00 a.m., but typically fall between 6:30 and 7:30 a.m.
End times vary depending on the size, location, and progress of the job. Employees must be willing to stay until the day’s scheduled work is completed. Some days may run longer than a standard eight-hour shift.
Occasional storm work, early mornings, and longer days may be required depending on workload and weather. Weekend work is uncommon but may occasionally be necessary.
This is a year-round outdoor position. Work may continue during cold, heat, rain, snow, wind, and other weather conditions when it is safe to do so.

Pay: $18.00 - $25.00 per hour
