Responsibilities
- Assist in preparing ingredients and assembling menu items according to established recipes and specifications
- Slice, chop, and portion ingredients using proper knife skills and slicing techniques to ensure consistency and safety
- Operate kitchen equipment such as mixers, ovens, fryers, and food processors safely and efficiently
- Follow food safety protocols diligently to maintain hygiene standards during food handling and preparation
- Support the cleaning and sanitation of workstations, utensils, equipment, and storage areas to uphold health standards
- Collaborate with kitchen staff to coordinate meal preparation for catering events, ensuring timely delivery
- Adhere strictly to recipe instructions and portion sizes to maintain menu consistency across all catering orders
Qualifications
- Previous experience in dietary departments or dietary aide roles is highly desirable
- Proven food preparation and cooking experience within a restaurant or food service environment
- Strong knowledge of food safety management practices and safety standards in production settings
- Skilled in operating various kitchen equipment with a focus on safety and efficiency
- Excellent communication skills for effective coordination with kitchen staff and team members
- Demonstrated ability to follow recipes accurately and execute meal preparation with precision
- Familiarity with catering operations or event-based food service is a plus
- Ability to handle multiple tasks in a fast-paced environment while maintaining attention to detail
