As our Blow Molding Tooling & Changeover Technician, you’ll prepare, install, align, and dial-in molds, tooling, and auxiliary equipment for extrusion or injection blow molding assets. You’ll be the expert who troubleshoots issues, optimizes parameters (temperature, pressure, timing), and ensures each run meets spec.

Review shift handoff, stage tooling, and check CMMS tasks in MaintainX.

Clean, polish, and lubricate molds, pins, locking rings, and cores to remove flash and plastic buildup.

Rig, install, align, and remove molds; complete rapid changeovers and swap accessory devices.

Set temperature profiles, parison programming, and blow pin settings for efficient startups.

Run first-article samples; weigh, measure, and verify dimensions with precision tools.

Eliminate quality defects such as flash, thin walls, and uneven distribution to reduce downtime.

Fine-tune machine pressure and timing to hit quality targets and production rates.

Perform minor mechanical repairs and preventive maintenance on molds and equipment.

Document production data, downtime, and material usage; keep accurate logs in MaintainX.

Share know-how and train maintenance/setup teammates; partner with production and quality to maximize uptime.

Complete accurate end-of-shift reports and provide a thorough handoff to production and scheduling.

Assist with new equipment installs, upgrades, and process improvements.

Communicate clearly with peers and the operations team; follow LOTO, GMP, and PPE at all times.

3–5+ years in manufacturing, specifically with blow molding machinery.

Strong mechanical troubleshooting ability and confident use of hand tools.
-
Knowledge of plastics/polymers and hydraulic/pneumatic systems.

Skilled at reading technical manuals, blueprints, and schematics.

Keen eye for defects; able to hold tight, repeatable settings.

Experience with CMMS and preventive maintenance scheduling (MaintainX a plus).

Physically able to lift molds; comfortable bending, twisting, and climbing.

Proactive, self-directed, and team oriented; willing to work overtime when needed.

Competitive pay with overtime opportunities—up to $33.50/hr depending on experience.
