At DuHadaway Tool and Die Shop, your manual machining skill turns tough challenges into dependable solutions for power generation, aerospace, military, and industrial customers.

Interpret blueprints, engineering drawings, work instructions, specifications, and GD&T to plan precise setups.
-
Set up and operate conventional machine tools to manufacture and repair components to close tolerances.
-
Perform drilling, tapping, boring, lapping, cylinder bore honing, internal/external thread chasing, facing, and precision fitting.
-
Tram milling heads and quills; align vises and angle plates to exacting standards.
-
Center/indicate round and out-of-round workpieces for accurate machining.
-
Select tooling, speeds, and feeds appropriate to material and method.
-
Verify results using precision metrology to meet customer specifications.
-
Deburr, clean, and prepare work for subsequent operations.
-
Collaborate with supervision, quality, and peers to ensure productivity and quality.
-
Keep the work area clean, organized, and safe; follow all safety procedures.
-
Complete production and quality documentation with accuracy.

5+ years of hands-on manual machining on mills and lathes.

Experience with Engine Lathes, Turret Lathes, Bridgeport Mills, Vertical/Knee/Horizontal Mills, VTLs, and VBMs.
-
Setups and workholding: three-jaw centering chucks (reversible jaws), four-jaw independent chucks (reversible jaws), tailstocks, steady rests, compound rest angle setups.

Metrology and accessories: OD/ID micrometers, dial test indicators, bore gauges, right-angle heads, indexing heads, rotary tables, boring heads, facing heads, tapping heads.

Proficient reading prints and GD&T; capable with precision inspection and shop math.

Strong mechanical aptitude and problem-solving ability.
-
Age 18+; high school diploma or GED.
-
Successfully pass a pre-employment physical, lift assessment, and drug screening.

Journeyman Machinist certification

CNC machining experience

Large-part, tight-tolerance work

Industrial equipment repair/refurbishment

ISO 9001 quality systems familiarity

Standing, walking, bending, reaching, and repetitive motion throughout the workday.

Lift up to 50 lbs independently; use cranes/assist devices for heavier items.

Manual dexterity for safe machine tool and metrology use.
