A/V Tech Assistant
Reports to: Director of Worship Arts Effective: May 1, 2026
Directly Supervises: Volunteer Ministry Team
Relates to the following committees/teams: Communications Assistant, Dir of Ops
Status: Part-time; 4-10 hours per week
FLSA: Non-Exempt
Overview: The A/V Tech Team member supports our Worship Ministry by preparing, editing and producing the audio/visual elements and operating the equipment needed for an aesthetic and meaningful audio and visual worship experience for our in-person and digital congregation during worship.
Responsibilities:
- Serve at the direction of Director of Worship Arts.
- Produces and edits the weekly worship service in a cohesive and appealing production in coordination with worship pastors, staff and volunteers. This may be done live, pre-recorded and/or post production formats.
- Collects, creates and compiles audio, video, graphic components from the various sources needed to produce the video/stream for worship service each week.
- Test all A/V equipment being used for the worship services.
- Operate the audio/visual equipment for worship services.
- Check for successful broadcast operations.
- Direct any A/V volunteers that are helping with the service.
- Edits and & uploads various videos to websites and social platforms.
- Participate in brief monthly worship service planning meetings.
- Capture photos and video of church events for use in communications and productions.
- Opportunity to produce other videos as time allows
- Opportunity to provide for the recording, live-streaming, or other A/V services for events such as weddings and funerals.
Relationships:
- The A/V Tech Team member reports to the Director of Worship Arts who ensures the support and training needed to thrive in this role.
- This role serves in a relational community with members of the A/V Tech Team.
Time Commitment:
- Brief monthly planning/coordination touch base meetings.
- Goal will be to produce/run livestream for roughly half of our services, scheduled with the Director of Worship Arts.
- 3-4 hours of training on equipment and software.
- Estimated 2-3 Hours preproduction for Sunday Service
- 3-4 Hours Sunday, broadcasting livestream, editing and uploading service and sermon video and excerpts.
- Additional training with Amplio Systems with full system is installed. Times TBD.
Special Talents, Skills Preferred: Attention to detail, Comfort in working with basic electronics, ability to work as both part of a team and independently. Knowledge of ProPresenter, Microsoft Office and Adobe Creative Cloud Products a plus.
Job Type: Part-time
Pay: $15.00 - $20.00 per hour
