Sanmina Corporation is seeking an experienced Stockroom & Picking Supervisor to lead stockroom, material handling, inventory, and order picking operations at our El Paso facility. This first-level supervisory role is responsible for overseeing the daily order fulfillment process, leading warehouse personnel, ensuring inventory accuracy, and supporting manufacturing by delivering materials to production on time.
The ideal candidate is a hands-on leader with experience in warehouse operations, inventory control, stockroom management, and material flow within a fast-paced manufacturing environment.
Responsibilities
- Supervise daily stockroom and order picking operations to ensure accurate and timely delivery of raw materials and finished goods.
- Lead, coach, train, and mentor warehouse material handlers and stockroom personnel.
- Conduct daily shift meetings, assign work, monitor productivity, and perform employee performance evaluations.
- Ensure all materials are picked accurately and delivered to production or shipping within established timelines.
- Coordinate with Procurement, Production Planning, Manufacturing, Shipping, Receiving, Inventory Control, and Quality departments to support production schedules.
- Monitor inventory levels and ensure material availability to prevent production downtime.
- Verify physical inventory against system records and investigate inventory discrepancies.
- Process inventory and material transactions using Oracle or other ERP systems.
- Optimize picking routes and warehouse workflow to improve efficiency and reduce errors.
- Coordinate with Quality Control to inspect materials and properly quarantine damaged or non-conforming inventory.
- Monitor key warehouse and picking performance metrics and implement continuous improvement initiatives.
- Troubleshoot operational issues and implement corrective actions to improve productivity.
- Support Lean Manufacturing, Six Sigma, and continuous improvement programs.
- Ensure compliance with company policies, OSHA regulations, environmental standards, and quality management systems.
- Support ISO 9001, ISO 14001, customer audits, and other regulatory requirements.
- Promote a safe work environment by identifying hazards, enforcing PPE requirements, and ensuring compliance with all safety procedures.
- Perform additional duties as assigned.
Required Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree in supply chain management, Logistics, Business Administration, or a related field preferred.
- High School Diploma or GED with 5+ years of equivalent experience in warehouse, stockroom, inventory, logistics, or supply chain operations will be considered.
- Minimum of 5 years of experience in warehouse, stockroom, logistics, inventory control, or material handling operations.
- At least 1–2 years of supervisory or leadership experience in a manufacturing or distribution environment.
- Experience using ERP systems such as Oracle, SAP, or similar warehouse management software.
- Strong knowledge of stockroom operations, inventory control, material handling, warehouse processes, and order picking.
- Experience with cycle counts, inventory reconciliation, and inventory accuracy programs.
- Strong understanding of manufacturing, supply chain, warehouse, and logistics operations.
- Proficient in Microsoft Excel and Microsoft Office.
- Excellent organizational, analytical, and problem-solving skills.
- Strong leadership, coaching, and employee development abilities.
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills with the ability to collaborate across multiple departments.
- Experience with Lean Manufacturing, Six Sigma, or continuous improvement methodologies preferred.
- Ability to analyze warehouse processes, identify inefficiencies, and implement process improvements.
- Strong attention to detail with the ability to prioritize multiple tasks in a fast-paced environment.
Physical Requirements
- Frequently lift, push, pull, and carry up to 50 pounds.
- Stand and walk for extended periods throughout the shift.
- Frequently bend, stoop, crouch, twist, and reach above shoulder level and below the waist.
- Ability to safely work in a warehouse and manufacturing environment.
