JOB Under the general supervision of a Police Sergeant the Police Recruit will attend peace officer basic training program that meets the requirements of Ohio Revised Code Section 109.77 for Peace Officer Certification. Performs other work as requested.
EXAMPLE OF DUTIES Enrollment in peace officer basic training program that meets the requirements of Ohio Revised Code Section 109.77 for Peace Officer Certification. SUPPLEMENTAL INFORMATION Ability to complete physical fitness test and meet OPOTA’s physical fitness standards.
Ability to maintain passing grades in course curriculum including: Administration, Legal, Human Relations, Firearms, Driving, Subject Control Techniques, First Aid/CPR/AED, Patrol, Civil Disorders, Traffic, Investigation, Physical Conditioning, Homeland Security, Use of Taser/ASP/O.C., Single Officer Response to an Active Shooter, and other courses as required.
Ability to maintain attendance per academy regulations.
Ability to successfully complete basic academy and passing grade on state certification examination.
