We are seeking a dedicated and skilled Endoscopy Technician to join our healthcare team. As an Endoscopy Technician, you will play a vital role in assisting physicians during endoscopic procedures, ensuring the highest standards of safety, infection prevention, and technical proficiency. Duties
- Prepare endoscopy suites and equipment, including endoscopes, ensuring proper sterilization and reprocessing according to aseptic techniques.
- Assist physicians during endoscopic procedures such as colonoscopies and other gastrointestinal examinations by providing necessary instruments and support.
- Ensure patient comfort and safety throughout procedures by monitoring vital signs and applying basic life support protocols when necessary.
- Maintain detailed documentation of procedures, including imaging results, equipment usage, and patient information for accurate medical records.
- Support the technical aspects of medical imaging related to endoscopy, aiding in diagnostic evaluations of gastrointestinal anatomy and physiology.
- Follow infection prevention protocols rigorously to prevent cross-contamination and ensure a sterile environment at all times.
- Educate patients on procedure preparation and post-procedure care to promote understanding and compliance with medical instructions.
Qualifications
- Prior experience in gastroenterology or endoscopy settings is highly preferred, with demonstrated proficiency in endoscope reprocessing and surgical technique assistance.
- Knowledge of anatomy, physiology, and medical terminology relevant to gastrointestinal procedures.
- Certification in basic life support (BLS) is required to respond effectively during emergencies.
- Strong understanding of aseptic techniques, infection control practices, and equipment sterilization processes.
- Technical proficiency with medical imaging devices used in endoscopy procedures.
- Excellent patient care skills with the ability to communicate clearly and compassionately with diverse patient populations.
- Ability to work collaboratively within a multidisciplinary healthcare team in a fast-paced environment.
