Baker Hill Golf Club is looking for an individual to help fill out our team until the end of the 2026 Season. This is a 3 month position seeking someone who is passionate about hospitality, incredible food, hungry to learn and to be part of a dedicated, upbeat professional team. Although Baker Hill is a Private club, we are aiming to 100% provide the best dining experience available in the greater Sunapee Area. Due to the nature of this Job and one of the cool parts of this gig is that we have multiple opportunities. From an in house menu functioning just like a restaurant menu which lends itself to creative freedom and evolution. To a plethora of in house outings and events. The range of food will go anywhere from simple food done the right way (Making our own deli meats, pickles, breads, etc. all in house), to metropolitan area fine dining. AKA do you love creativity and serving fancy food, but love to stuff your face with an ACTUALLY incredible sandwich or cocktail? Then this may be the opportunity for you!

- Work in the Sunapee NH area surrounded by nature and beauty on one of the most beautiful courses in all of New England
- Mostly Daytime hours! Restaurant operation is from 11:00-7:00 with occasional events that go later.

As server/ bartender at Baker Hill Golf Club, you will be reporting to the Executive Chef and Front of House Manager
Responsibilities:
Assist in providing a 1 class, high-quality hospitality experience for the Members of Baker Hill Golf Club by passionately and thoughtfully serving scratch made cuisine under the guidance of the Front of House Supervisor and Executive Chef. This includes working together with the clubhouse team to ensure a fine dining service experience including all special events with the goal of meeting & exceeding Member & Guest expectations. As a Baker Hill server/ bartender, you are expected to set an excellent example when it comes to hospitality, cleanliness and professionalism.

- Passionately serve, learn about and create incredible beverages and food to be given to our guests.
- Meet and exceed kitchen/ foodservice standards and member satisfaction in the Clubhouse.
- Carry a consistent positive and welcoming attitude towards coworkers and guests whilst remaining professional and solution oriented.
- Through guidance, teamwork and coordination provide Baker Hill Members and guests the best hospitality and dining experience in the Private Golf Club sector and greater Sunapee NH area!
- Serve amazing food + beverages and have fun while we are doing it!
Job Duties and Requirements:
Please have the knowledge, drive and/or ability to do the following:
*Note: Although these skills are preferred, for the right candidate with the right attitude, our Clubhouse management team is more than willing to teach you the skills to succeed. It is all about showing a great attitude, a sense of urgency, drive, passion and dedication. The knowledge will come!
Serving Abilities/ Menu Knowledge/ Liquor and Wine Knowledge
- Wine, Beer, Liquor, + Clubhouse Menu
- Work with the FOH Manager to ensure you have intricate knowledge of the clubhouse menu
- Beverages, Ingredients, techniques, allergies, etc.
- Know how to make all Mixed drinks and beverages on Menu
- Understand wine service and our wine menu
- Know our draft list and beer descriptions for our guests
- POS Systems
- Understand our in house POS system
- Taking and sending orders
- Out of stocking items
- Snacks
- Have knowledge of the clubhouse snack menu and pricing
- Assist FOH Manager by helping keep tab on the “Honor” System for clubhouse and cabin snacks
- Huge bonuses for:
- Previous bartending/ hosting/ serving experience (2 years or more)
- Basic Customer Service Experience
- Servsafe Liquor or Equivalent Sanitation training Experience
Daily Duties
- Open/ Close the FOH following procedures outlined by your Clubhouse Management team/ lists
- Greet guests and take food orders. Send them into the kitchen as they pertain to your tables, being cognizant of timing, seatings, and staffing
- Assist with Dishwashing and cleaning as outlined by your FOH Supervisor and prep lists. (All team members are responsible for assisting with cleaning! Nobody is above these tasks. Beinga team player is a must at Baker Hill!)
- Setup Service Station
- Restock as laid out in FOH Guidelines
- Get ahead for the next person
- Clean and Sanitize tables, surfaces, windows, etc. As needed
- Maintain sanitation standards during all parts of our shift as outlined by your Chefs and lists
- Communicate needs to FOH Supervisor or Executive Chef
- Guest needs, bad product, missing items, allergies, etc.
- Unsurety about recipes/ procedures
- Staff/ Member complaints and issues
- Lists
- Fill out prep/ cleaning lists before leaving to inform decisions for the next day. Think ahead, plan ahead and execute.
Move with Purpose/ Timeliness
- It is necessary to move quickly and with a purpose in any restaurant role. Always ask yourself, what’s next?
- Plan for the next day
- Always use free time to get ahead
- Ask yourself, what else could I be doing
- Set a mental timer and try to beat the clock
- Don't waste movements
- Set yourself up for Success (Mis en Place!)
- Use your down time!
- Nobody to serve? Polish silver or glassware. Help the kitchen with dishes. Ask your manager what they could use help with.
Cleanliness/ Sanitation
- Come to work clean and properly groomed.
- Shave long beards, keep it tight
- Restrain hair that is too long
- Clean and keep short fingernails
- No watches, rings, jewelry on hands while preparing or touching food
- Apron and uniform clean and washed
- Wash hands constantly and in between tasks
- Cough and Sneeze into shoulder if you must
- Maintain a proper and professional appearance
- Who would you want preparing or serving your food?
Organization/ Communication
- Stay organized while at work
- Finish a task before starting the next
- Write lists, follow a timeline
- Wash dishes/ Clean as you go to ensure there is no pileup
- Communicate needs, wants, issues, joys, jokes and generally anything in a respectful manner when addressing either coworkers or guests
- Always feel comfortable to approaching the Chef or Management team with issues
- Bring it to us before handling it yourself
- Take customer feedback with a smile, no matter the situation and explain you will communicate their needs to the Chef. (Don't worry! I've got your back!)
