Transportation Assistant
Job Summary:
We are seeking a dedicated and compassionate Transportation Assistant to join our team at the Tulsa Center for Rehabilitation & Healthcare in Chandler, OK. As a Transportation Assistant, you will provide transport assistive services to assigned residents in accordance with care plans, facility policies, and procedures. Responsibilities:
Provide transportation services to residents as scheduled or as needed for appointments or events
Assist residents with transfer activities during transport, adhering to care plans and established policies and procedures
Safeguard resident medical paperwork during medical transports and provide paperwork to receiving providers
Coordinate transport schedules with the Director of Nursing, Social Services Director, or designee
Maintain all required paperwork, including documenting resident presence on transport rosters, mileage logs, and other relevant documentation
Deliver residents to appointments and events in a timely and efficient manner, taking into account traffic delays and other factors
Requirements:
Certified Nursing Assistant (CNA) in good standing with the state
High school diploma or equivalent
Current CPR/BLS certification
Valid, unencumbered state-issued driver's license
Must have no disciplinary action in effect against certification
Personal Skills and Traits Desired:
Ability to read, write, speak, and understand the English language
Must be a supportive team member, contributing to and being an example of team collaboration
Ability to make independent decisions when circumstances warrant such
Ability to deal tactfully with personnel, residents, family members, visitors, government agencies/personnel, and the general public
Must have patience, tact, and willingness to deal with difficult residents, family, and others
Physical Requirements/Working Conditions:
Ability to move intermittently throughout the facility
Meets general health requirements according to facility policy
Ability to work beyond normal working hours and on weekends and holidays when necessary
Ability to assist in evacuation of residents during emergency situations
Ability to bend, stoop, kneel, crouch, perform overhead lifting, and perform other common physical movements as needed
May be subject to falls, burns from equipment, and/or odors throughout the day
