Position Overview
We are seeking an experienced Medical Records Legal Assistant to join our team. This is not an entry-level position. The ideal candidate must have substantial experience reviewing medical records and a strong understanding of the progression of accident-related injuries and medical treatment.
This position requires excellent communication skills, attention to detail, and the ability to work directly with clients throughout the life of their case.

Applicants must have:
- Experience reviewing and organizing medical records.
- A fundamental understanding of the progression of treatment following accident-related injuries.
- Knowledge of the purpose and necessity of:ongoing medical care, including the transition from: Emergency Room or Urgent Care, Primary Care, Medical Specialists and Subspecialists, Diagnostic Imaging, Laboratory Testing, Physical Therapy, Chiropractic Care, Occupational Therapy, and other rehabilitative services.
- Familiarity with medical terminology and treatment documentation.
- Experience preparing and tracking medical record requests.
- Knowledge of HIPAA authorizations and medical records release procedures.
- Strong organizational skills with exceptional attention to detail.
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
- The ability to manage multiple cases and priorities while maintaining accuracy.
Responsibilities
- Review, organize, and summarize medical records for legal case files.
- Monitor clients' medical treatment and maintain accurate treatment timelines through frequent client contact.
- Identify missing records and coordinate requests with healthcare providers.
- Prepare and process HIPAA authorizations and medical records requests.
- Maintain frequent communication with clients regarding treatment updates, new providers, appointments, and case status.
- Conduct new client intake interviews and gather necessary medical and treatment information.
- Communicate professionally with medical offices, hospitals, imaging centers, therapy providers, and other healthcare facilities.
- Ensure case files remain complete, organized, and up to date.
- Assist attorneys and staff by providing accurate medical documentation and treatment summaries.
Ideal Candidate
The successful candidate is personable, compassionate, and confident communicating with clients who may be dealing with ongoing injuries. They understand how accident-related medical treatment progresses and can recognize the importance of complete medical documentation throughout a personal injury case. Emotional inelegance is needed.
This position requires someone who can work independently, stay organized under deadlines, and communicate professionally with clients, healthcare providers, and legal staff.

Pay: $18.00 - $23.00 per hour
