The Monson Law Firm, with offices in Texas, Louisiana and Florida, is growing! We are looking for an attorney with first-party insurance defense experience to join our Kingwood, Texas team to defend first-party property claims and litigation. This job can be hybrid for the right candidate with experience defending homeowners insurance defense litigation.
Ideal Candidates will have the following Credentials:
- Excellent academic credentials (top 25% of class rank)
- Strong legal research, analytical, and writing skills
- Experience conducting depositions and inspections, appearing in court and arguing motions, and assisting in mediation and trial
Key Responsibilities
- Handle all aspects of first-party insurance defense litigation, including case strategy, pleadings, discovery, depositions, motion practice, mediation, and trial preparation.
- Analyze and interpret insurance policies, coverage issues, and claim investigations.
- Draft legal documents, including motions, pleadings, discovery responses, and settlement agreements.
- Conduct depositions of witnesses, experts, and parties involved in litigation.
- Represent clients in court hearings, mediations, and trials.
- Work closely with insurance adjusters, claims representatives, and corporate clients to develop defense strategies.
- Ensure compliance with Texas insurance laws, court deadlines, and ethical obligations.
- Provide legal opinions and coverage evaluations to clients.
