Duties
- Oversee daily administrative functions of the mental health clinic, ensuring efficient workflow and compliance with all healthcare regulations including HIPAA and JCAHO standards
- Manage fiscal responsibilities such as budgeting, financial management, billing, and coding using EMR (Electronic Medical Records) and EHR (Electronic Health Records) systems like Epic, eClinicalWorks, Dentrix, and Eaglesoft
- Supervise medical administrative staff, including hiring, training, performance evaluations, and human resources activities to foster a motivated team environment
- Coordinate with clinical staff to optimize clinic operations, including scheduling appointments, managing medical records, and ensuring accurate documentation of patient care
- Oversee medical office support functions such as patient intake processes, insurance verification, utilization management, and managed care compliance
- Maintain strict adherence to HIPAA guidelines to protect patient confidentiality and ensure secure handling of sensitive medical information
- Facilitate communication between healthcare providers, insurance companies, and patients to streamline processes and improve service delivery
Qualifications
- Proven experience in medical office management within mental health or related healthcare settings; experience in acute care or hospital environments is highly desirable
- Strong supervisory skills with demonstrated success in managing teams within a clinical environment
- Proficiency in EMR/EHR systems such as Epic, eClinicalWorks, Dentrix, Eaglesoft or similar platforms
- Knowledge of medical terminology, medical records management, billing procedures, and coding standards
- Familiarity with healthcare regulations including HIPAA compliance and JCAHO accreditation standards
- Experience with fiscal management including budgeting, financial reporting, and resource allocation
- Background in nursing or healthcare management is preferred; veterinary or dental clinic experience is a plus but not required
- Excellent organizational skills with the ability to multitask effectively in a fast-paced setting
