We are seeking a School-Based Mental Health Counselor to join our team in collaboration with The Palm Beach County School Board. The ideal candidate will provide mental health counseling services to students in a school setting, addressing a wide range of emotional and behavioral issues. Responsibilities include conducting individual and group therapy sessions, developing treatment plans, and collaborating with school staff and parents to support student well-being. The School-Based Mental Health Counselor will also participate in crisis intervention and prevention efforts, as well as provide psychoeducation and support services to promote mental health awareness within the school community.
- Master's degree in Counseling, Social Work, Psychology, or related field
- Must be a Registered Intern
- Non-Licensed or Licensed Mental Health Counselor (LMHC) or Licensed Clinical Social Worker (LCSW) in the state of Florida
- Experience providing mental health counseling services to children and adolescents
- Knowledge of evidence-based therapeutic techniques and interventions
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills
- Ability to work collaboratively with school staff, parents, and community partners
- Understanding of school-based mental health services and systems
- Experience working with children and adolescents is required
- 1 year of therapy experience is strongly preferred
- Ability to pass a Level 2 Background Screening and Education Verification
- Ability to download and use company applications such as Microsoft Teams and Outlook
- Moderate Computer Literacy and ability to use Electronic Health Systems
