Job Summary
Omaha Industries is a Specialized and Premium Fully Balanced Petfood and Treat co-packer. We are seeking a driven Sales Development Coordinator (SDC) whose primary mission is sales prospecting and new customer acquisition. This role reports directly to the Director of Sales and is central to expanding our client base among pet food brands, manufacturers, and private-label companies. The ideal candidate is proactive, persistent, and skilled at identifying opportunities, engaging decision-makers, and converting prospects into qualified opportunities.
Key Responsibilities
- Sales Prospecting & Lead Generation
- Identify and research potential clients in the pet food industry (brands, manufacturers, private label companies, and retailers).
- Build and maintain a robust pipeline of qualified leads through outbound prospecting (cold outreach, email sequences, LinkedIn, industry databases, and networking).
- Customer Acquisition
- Engage decision-makers to introduce Omaha Industries’ fully balanced pet food and treat co-packing offerings to the pet food marketplace.
- Qualify opportunities based on volume potential and timeline.
- Schedule initial sales contact and product capability discussions.
- Sales Presentations & Follow-Up
- Create & Collaborate with our Advertising/Marketing division to develop clear, professional presentations highlighting our processing expertise, quality standards, and value proposition.
- Manage consistent follow-up to nurture prospects through the sales cycle.
- Hand off qualified opportunities to the Director of Sales with complete notes and next steps.
- Pipeline & Reporting
- Maintain accurate activity and pipeline data.
- Track key metrics (calls, emails, meetings booked, qualified opportunities) and report regularly to the Director of Sales.
- Collaborate closely with the Director of Sales on targeting strategies and market feedback.
Qualifications & Requirements
- 1–3 years of experience in sales development, business development, or outbound sales (B2B preferred; food, pet products, manufacturing, or CPG experience strongly preferred).
- Proven track record of prospecting, booking meetings, and generating qualified opportunities.
- Strong verbal and written communication skills.
- High level of organization, resilience, and self-motivation.
- Proficiency with CRM systems (Salesforce, HubSpot, or similar) and Microsoft Office.
- Familiarity with the pet food industry, co-packing, and/or food manufacturing is a plus.
- Bachelor’s degree preferred but not required; equivalent experience will be considered.
