Job Summary
We are seeking a dedicated and detail-oriented Optical Sales Associate / Optician to join our team. The ideal candidate will play a crucial role in providing exceptional patient care and support within our optical practice. This position involves assisting with various tasks related to patient interactions, optical sales, and laboratory functions, ensuring a seamless experience for our clients.
Duties
- Greet and assist patients as they arrive for appointments, ensuring a welcoming environment.
- Assist in the selection of eyewear and contact lenses, providing knowledgeable recommendations based on patient needs.
- Maintain accurate medical records and ensure compliance with HIPAA regulations.
- Support the optometry team by preparing patients for examinations and procedures.
- Utilize EMR systems for documentation and scheduling purposes.
- Perform laboratory tasks including troubleshooting, frame adjustments, and repairs as needed.
- Educate patients on proper eyewear care and usage, addressing any questions or concerns.
- Collaborate with management to achieve sales goals while maintaining high levels of customer service.
Qualifications
- Previous experience in an optical setting is mandatory; retail sales experience is a plus.
- Familiarity with HIPAA regulations and medical billing/coding practices is highly desirable.
- Experience with EMR systems is advantageous.
- Strong communication skills with the ability to work effectively with diverse patient populations including pediatrics and senior care.
- Aseptic technique knowledge is beneficial for assisting in clinical procedures.
- Retail math skills are helpful for managing transactions and inventory efficiently.
