Overview

Responsibilities
- Conduct thorough inspections of steel structures and bridge components during various phases of construction to ensure adherence to design schematics and technical specifications.
- Perform quality control checks on materials, welds, bolting, and other critical elements to verify compliance with industry standards and project requirements.
- Analyze construction site conditions, schematics, and blueprints to identify potential issues early and recommend corrective actions.
- Collect detailed data on construction progress, materials used, and inspection findings for accurate reporting and documentation purposes.
- Monitor construction activities on-site to ensure safety protocols are followed and that work meets quality benchmarks throughout the project lifecycle.
- Review contracts, technical drawings, and construction management plans to confirm scope adherence and identify deviations or discrepancies.
- Collaborate with contractors, engineers, and project managers to resolve construction challenges promptly while maintaining project timelines.
Requirements
- Proven experience in construction inspection with a focus on bridges, steel structures, or pipeline projects.
- Strong knowledge of quality inspection procedures, construction management practices, and safety standards applicable to large infrastructure projects.
- Ability to read and interpret blueprints, schematics, and technical drawings accurately.
- Excellent analysis skills with attention to detail in data collection, quality control assessments, and problem-solving.
- Familiarity with construction site operations, contracts management, and compliance requirements.
- Prior experience working with NYSDOT or similar transportation agencies is highly desirable.

Pay: $45.00 - $60.00 per hour
