Duties
- Safely operate tow trucks, including flatbed and wheel-lift models, to recover and transport vehicles of all types.
- Conduct thorough vehicle inspections before and after towing to ensure proper functioning and safety compliance.
- Secure cargo using appropriate cargo securement protocols to prevent movement or damage during transit.
- Assist with vehicle diagnostics and basic automotive repairs when needed, leveraging mechanical knowledge and automotive diagnostics skills.
- Load and unload vehicles efficiently, adhering to safety standards and cargo securement procedures.
- Manage conflict situations professionally, providing excellent customer service while addressing concerns or disputes calmly.
- Maintain detailed records of all towing activities, vehicle conditions, and service reports for accountability and compliance.
Requirements
- Proven experience with commercial driving, including operating tow trucks or similar heavy-duty vehicles.
- Strong mechanical knowledge with hands-on experience in automotive diagnostics, automotive repair, and vehicle mechanics for truck drivers.
- Familiarity with manual transmission operation and vehicle mechanics is essential.
- Ability to perform flatbed towing, cargo securement protocols, and vehicle load & unload procedures confidently.
- Experience with forklift operation is a plus for handling certain recovery scenarios or loading tasks.
- Excellent conflict management skills paired with outstanding customer service abilities to handle diverse situations professionally.
- Valid driver’s license with a clean driving record; CDL license preferred but not required depending on jurisdiction.
- Knowledge of vehicle mechanics for truck drivers and familiarity with tow truck operations are highly desirable.
