Responsibilities
- Greet guests warmly and guide them to their tables with a friendly, energetic attitude
- Take accurate food and beverage orders using POS systems such as Aloha POS or Micros POS, ensuring all special requests are noted
- Serve food, cocktails, wine, spirits, and other beverages efficiently while maintaining high standards of presentation and quality
- Upsell menu items and suggest pairings to enhance the guest experience and increase sales opportunities
- Handle cash transactions accurately, process sales using POS systems, and manage billing with precision
- Maintain cleanliness and sanitation standards by bussing tables, resetting dining areas, and adhering to food safety protocols
- Provide exceptional guest relations through attentive service, prompt responses to inquiries, and personalized recommendations based on guest preferences
Requirements
- Proven experience in food service or restaurant environments, especially in fine dining or upscale settings
- Strong knowledge of POS systems such as Aloha POS or Micros POS; experience with OpenTable is a plus
- Culinary experience or familiarity with food preparation enhances your ability to assist guests effectively
- Excellent time management skills to handle multiple tables efficiently during busy hours
- Knowledge of wine, spirits, cocktail mixing, and beverage service techniques including cocktail experience is highly desirable
- Ability to upsell menu items confidently while maintaining genuine guest engagement
- Food safety certification and understanding of sanitation practices are required for safe food handling
- Previous experience in serving roles such as host/hostess or bussing contributes to your success in this position
- Basic math skills for cashiering and sales transaction processing with accuracy
- Strong customer service orientation with a focus on guest satisfaction and relationship building
