Junior Chimney and Fireplace Service Technician

Ember Keepers: Chimney and Fireplace protects homes and families through expert chimney care, fireplace service, inspections, repairs, and installations. We are hiring a developing service technician who is ready to run a service truck, build strong chimney and masonry skills, and deliver an excellent homeowner experience.
What you will do
- Perform chimney sweeping, inspections, and repairs from start to finish
- Perform dryer-vent repair and installation
- Complete masonry and fireplace-building work within your training and authorization
- Document findings clearly and explain safety recommendations to homeowners
- Maintain a clean, organized, and safe service vehicle and job site
- Continue classroom and field training toward relevant industry certifications, including CDET
- Follow company procedures, manufacturer requirements, and applicable safety standards
What we are looking for
- Prior chimney, fireplace, construction, roofing, HVAC, masonry, or home-service experience, or successful completion of an apprenticeship
- Reliable, detail-oriented, and committed to safe, high-quality work
- Professional communication and customer-service skills
- Valid driver's license and a driving record that meets company-vehicle requirements
- Able to perform the essential physical duties of the role, with or without reasonable accommodation
- Comfortable working outdoors, on ladders, at heights, and in tight spaces
Compensation
- Starting pay ranges from $20 to $25 per hour, based on experience, certifications, and demonstrated skill
- Additional earnings may include performance bonuses, sales commissions, and eligible inspection bonuses under the Ember Keepers performance-pay plan
- Actual variable compensation depends on eligible work performed, sales credited to the employee, and job profitability
Location and schedule
- Full-time position based in the Boone, NC area
- Serving customers across western North Carolina and eastern Tennessee, including the Johnson City market
- Occasional weekend work may be required
