Estimators collect and analyze data in order to estimate the time, money, materials, and labor required to manufacture a product, construct a building, or provide a service. Estimators provide managers with the information they need in order to submit competitive contract bids or price products appropriately. They require experience in the door, storefront, and curtainwall industry. Inside sales personnel interact with customers by phone, e-mail or face to face. The position requires a customer service focus and maintaining relationships with our current and new customers.
Duties
- Review or perform takeoff depending on the project and prepare cost estimates using a Pittco worksheet;
- Review project to confirm Pittco system are appropriate for the intended purpose;
- Request cost information from suppliers listed in the specifications;
- Update quotes as revisions are submitted prior to quote acceptance;
- Write purchase orders for hardware and finishing (paint/anodize);
- Write sales orders for stock length orders, standard entrances, custom entrances, punched openings, accessories;
- Provide customers with door/frame or punched opening drawings confirming size and handing for non-stock doors;
- Follow up on the status of orders and arrange pick up/shipping schedules with the Shipping team; and
- All other duties as assigned.
