Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree from an accredited university
- Valid Texas Teaching Certificate
- Valid Texas ESL Certification
- Valid Texas Special Education Certification
- Demonstrated competency in the assigned core academic subject area
Essential Responsibilities
- Develop and implement Individualized Education Programs (IEPs) and Behavior Intervention Plans (BIPs) based on assessment data and committee recommendations.
- Collaborate with teachers, specialists, and support staff to develop instructional goals and ensure appropriate accommodations and modifications are provided.
- Prepare lesson plans and instructional materials using research-based teaching strategies.
- Monitor and assess students' academic, behavioral, and social progress.
- Modify curriculum and instructional resources to meet diverse learning needs.
- Deliver instruction in whole-group, small-group, and one-on-one settings.
- Maintain a safe and positive learning environment in classrooms and throughout the school.
- Implement effective classroom management strategies.
- Use student performance data to drive instruction and support student growth.
- Establish standards-based learning objectives and evaluate student progress.
- Maintain accurate student records and documentation.
- Communicate regularly with parents and guardians regarding student progress.
- Administer required assessments and interpret results to support intervention planning.
- Implement Response to Intervention (RTI) strategies as appropriate.
- Participate in staff meetings, professional development, and collaborative planning sessions.
- Integrate technology and instructional tools to enhance learning.
- Stay current with educational best practices and special education regulations.
- Demonstrate professionalism, accountability, initiative, and a strong work ethic.
- Perform other duties as assigned to support school operations.

Work Environment
This position is based in a school setting and regularly utilizes standard office equipment including computers, telephones, printers, copiers, and other classroom technology.
Physical Requirements
This is an active position requiring frequent standing, walking, bending, kneeling, crouching, climbing, and lifting. The ability to lift and move items weighing up to 20 pounds is required.
