Lead the Crew. Run the Work. Build It Right.
We’re a Utah-based excavation and civil construction company looking for an experienced Crew Foreman to lead field operations on excavation, grading, and underground utility projects across the region.
Our projects include commercial site development, earthwork, underground utilities, and infrastructure work, the kind of work everything else depends on. We’re looking for someone who can lead from the front, keep crews productive, maintain safety standards, and make sure jobs get done the right way.
If you’ve worked your way up in excavation or heavy civil construction and know how to manage crews, coordinate equipment, solve problems, and keep production moving, we want to talk to you.
What You’ll Do
As a Foreman, you’ll oversee day-to-day field operations and work directly with operators, laborers, pipe crews, superintendents, and project managers to keep projects running safely and efficiently.
Responsibilities Include:
- Leading daily excavation and underground utility operations
- Coordinating crews, equipment, materials, and subcontractors
- Assigning work and setting daily production goals
- Reading plans, grade stakes, and project specifications
- Overseeing trenching, grading, pipe installation, backfill, and compaction work
- Monitoring crew productivity and adjusting workflow as needed
- Solving field issues quickly and keeping work on schedule
- Conducting daily safety meetings and enforcing OSHA standards
- Inspecting work for quality, accuracy, and compliance
- Completing daily reports, production tracking, and crew documentation
- Training and mentoring crew members to improve safety and performance
- Maintaining communication with inspectors, clients, and management teams
What We’re Looking For
We’re looking for someone who understands excavation work from real field experience — someone crews respect and can count on when conditions change and pressure is high.
Qualifications:
- 3+ years of experience in excavation, underground utilities, or heavy civil construction
- Previous leadership experience as a foreman, crew lead, or lead hand
- Strong knowledge of:
- Excavation and grading
- Trenching and shoring
- Underground utility installation
- Safe excavation practices
- Ability to read blueprints, grade stakes, and specifications
- Strong communication and problem-solving skills
- OSHA 30 Certification required
- Competent Person Certification for trenching and excavation required
- CPR/First Aid Certification preferred
- Valid driver’s license required
What It’s Like Working Here
This is a working foreman role, not a sit-in-the-truck position.
You’ll be in the field every day helping crews stay productive, solving problems in real time, coordinating moving parts, and making sure work gets done safely and correctly.
We value people who:
- Lead by example
- Hold crews accountable
- Communicate clearly
- Stay calm under pressure
- Take pride in quality work
- Show up ready to work every day
The work is tough, physical, and fast-paced but it’s rewarding when you can look back at a completed project and know your crew built it right.
Work Environment
- Active excavation and underground utility job sites
- Outdoor work in all weather conditions
- Exposure to heavy equipment, trenches, mud, dust, traffic, and changing site conditions
- Fast-paced production environment requiring teamwork and communication
- Regional travel to job sites as needed
