Compensation
Mount Sinai South Nassau provides a salary range in good faith determination of potential compensation to comply with the New York State law on Salary Transparency in Job Advertisements. Actual salaries depend on a variety of factors, including experience, education, and hospital need. The salary range listed does not include bonuses/incentive, differential pay or other forms of compensation or benefits.

Position Summary
Summary:
The Communication Services Representative is responsible for handling all calls directed to the Hospital Switchboard and responding to emergency signals and hospital emergency situations. Assists in relaying telecommunications issues to the Information Services (IT) Help Desk. The Representative also programs and distributes in-house paging devices. When covering the Hospital Information Desk, the representative is responsible for greeting and accurately directing all guests including patients, their families, physicians and visitors.

Education Required
- Must complete in-house orientation program
- High School Diploma/GED/or Equivalent
Experience And Skills
- Speaks, reads and writes English
- Excellent communication skills.
- Ability to remain calm and demonstrate compassionate in a fast-paced environment.
- Must be able to respond to high volume calls on a multi-line phone system
- Bi-lingual in Spanish preferred

- Personal Protective Equipment (PPE) worn
- Sitting in front of a computer for long periods of time.
- Frequent telephone usage.
- Must be able to respond in an expedient manner to emergency signals and alarms to summon emergency personnel on the overhead PA and in-house paging systems in the event of a Hospital Code (e.g. code Gray, code Adam, Medical Team, etc.)
- Ability to bend, reach and retrieve code phones, alarm panels, pagers, logs, keys, etc.
