American Traveler is seeking an experienced RN for a Mother-Baby/Couplet Care/Postpartum position in Oregon, requiring at least 1-2 years of specialty experience and active Epic and NRP certifications.

Mother-Baby Unit within a children's hospital setting, providing postpartum, antepartum, and gynecological care to a high-risk patient population

Well newborn care provided as part of a rooming-in service

State-mandated nurse-to-patient ratios: 1:3 for stable normal couplets and 1:2 for couplets with complications (e.g., late preterm, maternal magnesium sulfate administration)

Night shift schedule: 3x12-hour shifts, 19:00–07:30

13-week contract

Floating to a nearby affiliate hospital may be required for candidates with labor skills; refusal to float as requested may result in contract cancellation

No on-call requirements

Epic EMR experience required

Active Oregon (OR) RN license required

Current BLS certification required

Current NRP (Neonatal Resuscitation Provider) certification required

Minimum 1-2 years of specialty experience in a postpartum, antepartum, or LDRP unit required

Two manager or supervisor references from within the last 24 months required; Charge RN references are not acceptable

COVID vaccination proof required; no exemptions accepted

Preferred certifications include Maternal Newborn Certification, Inpatient Obstetric Certification, and IBCLC (International Board of Certified Lactation Consultant)

Local candidates are accepted at the same rate; no radius restriction applies

Candidates who are former employees or previous travelers at this health system must have a reference completed by their former supervising manager at the facility

Candidates must have been away from the facility for at least 6 months before returning as a traveler

Requested time off (RTO) must be submitted at the time of consideration and may not exceed 2 weeks

First-time travelers should review position requirements carefully, as 1-2 years of specialty experience is required
