Essential Responsibility:
This position is responsible for performing all receiving dock operations, including unloading, inspecting, documenting, and distributing incoming materials. The role also supports warehouse functions, scrap handling, replenishment of production areas, and cross departmental material flow to ensure efficient and accurate logistics operations.
List of Key Tasks / Primary Responsibilities:
- Receives, unloads, and stages incoming materials, components, and supplies in designated secure locations.
- Performs inspection processes on all incoming shipments, including visual quality checks, documentation verification, damage assessment, and confirmation of material accuracy.
- Uses the Warehouse Management System (WMS) and handheld scanners to process incoming materials, record receipts, update inventory, and complete material movements.
- Ensures inventory accuracy through verification of counts, discrepancy reporting, and assists with month‑end inventory processes.
- Prepares and maintains accurate records of materials received and shipped, including dates, quantities, lot numbers, and other required information.
- Transports, loads, and distributes materials, supplies, and finished goods to appropriate departments.
- Accurately updates product location moves and receiving transactions in the electronic inventory system.
- Validates, approves, and forwards invoices and receiving documents to the accounting department.
- Completes Work‑In‑Process (WIP) inventory counts as required (PADS audit).
- Reviews shipments for quality and accuracy; verifies all accompanying documents for correctness.
- Dumps scrap hoppers and ensures proper disposal of scrap materials, bracing, cardboard, and strapping.
- Replenishes materials for the Mixing area, Plate Treatment area, and Climate Control Room as needed.
- Assists in other production or warehouse areas as required to support overall operations.
- Maintains 5S standards within the receiving dock, warehouse, and surrounding work areas.
Education / Certifications:
High school diploma or equivalent
Required Skills and Knowledge:
Ability to read, analyze, and interpret general business documents, forms and instructions in English.
Ability to write reports and business correspondence in English.
Ability to effectively respond to questions in English.
Ability to communicate verbally and in writing in English.
Ability to effectively deliver presentations to Managers, Staff, clients, and the general public in English.
Required Skills and Knowledge:
Basic Math including an 80% score or higher for the SCM Logistics ""Basic Math Test"" LD-FO-013."
Ability to apply knowledge and sense of understanding to carry-out detailed written or oral instructions.
Ability to deal with problems involving several concrete variables in situations where only limited standardization exists.
Ability to analyze and use various documents (contracts, purchase orders, etc.).
Ability to use a computer as necessary.
- Ability to use a Warehouse Management System (WMS) and handheld scanners to process receipts, move inventory, and maintain accurate material records.
Other Skills
Must be tactful, mature, flexible and able to successfully respond to multiple work pressures.
Must have knowledge of Quality and Environmental systems.
Must be able to safely operate Sit Down and Stand-Up Reach forklifts in compliance with company and OSHA standards.
Physical Demands / Work Environment:
- Ability to stand, sit, or walk during office or field duties.
- Full range of motion to see, hear, touch, and observe documents or materials.
- Ordinary vision and hearing for communication and observation.
- Ability to lift up to 50 pounds.
- Ability to work in warehouse, dock, and production environments, including exposure to varying temperatures.
- Ability to lift up to 50 pounds.
Experience / Qualification:
- Minimum of 2 years' experience in a manufacturing environment or equivalent experience
- Must have experience operating both Sit‑Down and Stand‑Up Reach forklifts.
- Must be currently certified or able to provide proof of certification for Sit‑Down and Stand‑Up Reach forklift operation.
