JOB PURPOSE:
The Maintenance Mechanic- 3rd shift is responsible for installing, repairing, and monitoring industrial processing, production, and packaging machinery to support company production goals. This is a 3rd shift position which offers an additional $3 in shift differential.
JOB FUNCTIONS & RESPONSIBILITIES:

Work closely with the production and engineering teams to accomplish company and departmental goals

Complete routine preventative maintenance techniques on equipment

Identify and diagnose faulty equipment, troubleshoot, and recommend needed repairs in the event of a breakdown

Develop a working relationship with production staff and department heads
- Ensure production equipment is kept in good operational condition

Source and maintain an adequate spare part inventory

Be a key player with improving company production quality, safety, and efficiency

Safely operate power tools, hoists, and forklifts

Read machine and electrical schematics and drawings, voltmeters, micrometers, calipers, and other measurements instruments for troubleshooting and repairing equipment

Communicate needed repairs, parts, and outside services as needed to manager

Maintain a safe and clean working environment by complying with internal procedures and safety protocols; comply with applicable OSHA requirements

Other duties as assigned by manager or Director of Plant Operations
EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE:

5+ years as an industrial maintenance mechanic or equivalent experience

High school diploma/GED, or an equivalent number of years of education and maintenance experience

Proficiency with computers (Microsoft)

Have a working knowledge of electrical, pneumatic, plumbing, and hydraulic systems

Advanced technical, trade, or other training preferred

Have basic hand tool knowledge (common sockets, wrenches, screwdrivers, etc.)

Working knowledge LOTO and deenergizing electrical, pneumatic, hydraulic, and mechanical systems

Experience utilizing CMMS systems a plus
PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS:
- Lift and carry up to 60 lbs. to shoulder height

Good written and verbal communication skills

Must be able to perform activities that include climbing, bending at waist, stooping, kneeling, crouching, reaching, crawling, handling, feeling, hearing, talking, seeing.
