Wound Care Specialist (Nurse Practitioner or Physician Assistant)
Location: San Francisco Bay Area, CA (Territory-Based)
Schedule: Full Time OR Part-Time (1–3 Days per Week)
Compensation: $162,500–$190,000+ Annualized Base (Prorated for Part-Time) + Performance Incentives
A growing, physician-led medical practice specializing in advanced wound care is seeking a Nurse Practitioner (NP) or Physician Assistant (PA) to provide bedside wound care services throughout the San Francisco Bay Area.
This is an excellent opportunity for an experienced clinician seeking a flexible weekday schedule while practicing with a high degree of autonomy. Providers travel within an assigned territory to deliver evidence-based wound care services to patients residing in post-acute care settings.
The Wound Care Specialist will provide comprehensive wound assessment, treatment, and management for geriatric patients in skilled nursing and other post-acute care environments. Working collaboratively with facility staff and primary care providers, you'll help improve healing outcomes while reducing unnecessary hospitalizations.
- Provide bedside wound care services in post-acute care settings.
- Travel daily to multiple facilities within an assigned territory.
- Perform comprehensive wound evaluations and ongoing patient assessments.
- Perform wound debridement and other appropriate procedures within scope of practice.
- Develop and implement individualized wound treatment plans.
- Prescribe wound dressings, medications, and other appropriate therapies.
- Collaborate with physicians, nursing staff, therapists, and facility leadership to coordinate patient care.
- Educate nursing staff on wound prevention, treatment protocols, and best practices.
- Maintain accurate and timely clinical documentation.
- Communicate effectively with patients, families, and interdisciplinary care teams.
- Current California Nurse Practitioner (NP) or Physician Assistant (PA) license in good standing.
- DEA registration (if applicable).
- Valid driver's license and reliable transportation.
- Strong clinical assessment and procedural skills.
- Excellent communication and relationship-building abilities.
- Experience in wound care, geriatrics, skilled nursing, post-acute care, surgery, or related fields is preferred but not required.
- 1–3 weekdays per week.
- No evenings.
- No weekends.
