The Network Engineer supports, maintains, and improves Fitness International’s enterprise network infrastructure from the Irvine, California office. This is an onsite role with no hybrid or remote work arrangement. The position focuses on administration and support of the company’s Fortinet network and security environment, including firewalls, SD-WAN, switching, wireless LAN, authentication, reporting, analytics, endpoint access, and related Fortinet management platforms. This role also supports dynamic routing environments using BGP and OSPF across Fortinet and Arista platforms, while using SolarWinds and Tufin products for monitoring, alerting, reporting, compliance, and operational management.

- Schedule: Standard California business hours, with occasional after-hours maintenance or incident support as needed.
- Travel: Minimal travel is expected and may include local driving to the Irvine Data Center.
Key Responsibilities
- Support, administer, and troubleshoot the company’s Fortinet network and security environment, including firewalls, SD-WAN, switching, wireless, authentication, reporting, analytics, endpoint access, and related management platforms.
- Assist with configuration, maintenance, and operational support for BGP and OSPF routing on Fortinet and Arista network platforms.
- Monitor network performance, availability, and security events using SolarWinds and Tufin products.
- Respond to network incidents, service requests, alerts, and escalations in a timely and professional manner.
- Troubleshoot WAN, LAN, wireless LAN, firewall, routing, switching, VPN, and SD-WAN issues across corporate and remote locations.
- Support firewall policy changes, rule reviews, network access requests, and related change management activities.
- Assist with network documentation, including diagrams, configurations, procedures, standards, and troubleshooting guides.
- Work with vendors, service providers, and internal IT teams to resolve network issues and support project work.
- Participate in network upgrades, patching, configuration changes, deployments, and lifecycle maintenance activities.
- Participate in an on-call rotation and provide after-hours support for network incidents or maintenance windows as needed.
Required Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities
- Two to five years of hands-on network engineering, network operations, or network support experience.
- Working knowledge of Fortinet firewall administration, Fortinet SD-WAN, Fortinet switching, and Fortinet centralized management tools.
- Working knowledge of routing protocols, including BGP and OSPF.
- Experience supporting LAN, wireless LAN, WAN, VPN, firewall, routing, switching, and SD-WAN environments.
- Experience using network monitoring, alerting, or management platforms such as SolarWinds and Tufin.
- Strong troubleshooting skills with the ability to analyze issues, identify root cause, and drive incidents to resolution.
- Ability to document technical processes, configurations, diagrams, and operational procedures clearly and accurately.
- Ability to communicate technical information clearly to IT teams, business users, vendors, and management.
- Ability to manage multiple priorities, meet deadlines, and work independently or as part of a team.
- Ability to protect sensitive and confidential information.
- Ability to support scheduled maintenance activities and operational changes as needed.
Preferred Qualifications
- Fortinet certifications or formal Fortinet training.
- Arista certifications or formal Arista training.
- Cisco certifications are a plus but are not required.
- Experience with Fortinet management, reporting, authentication, access, switching, wireless LAN, firewall, SD-WAN, or related security platforms is preferred.
- Experience supporting Arista switching or routing environments.
- Experience with firewall policy management, security rule lifecycle, or network compliance tools.
- Experience working in a multi-site retail, enterprise, or distributed network environment.
