Position Summary
Contra Guard is seeking highly disciplined, professional personnel to operate as Elite Security Specialists in high-risk and high-liability environments.
This role combines responsibilities across:
- Executive Protection
- Private Security Operations
- Loss Prevention & Asset Protection
- Fugitive Recovery Support
Officers are expected to operate with precision, control, and sound judgment under Texas law and DPS regulations.
Core Responsibilities
1. Executive Protection
- Provide close protection for clients, staff, or designated individuals
- Conduct threat assessments and maintain situational awareness
- Control access points and manage secure movement
- Respond immediately to threats or suspicious activity
2. Private Security Operations
- Maintain assigned posts in high-risk environments (clubs, events, commercial sites)
- Enforce client rules and company policies within legal limits
- Monitor and respond to disturbances, trespassing, or safety risks
- Complete detailed and accurate incident reports
3. Loss Prevention / Asset Protection
- Detect and deter theft, fraud, and internal loss
- Conduct surveillance and monitor high-risk areas
- Document incidents and coordinate with management/law enforcement when necessary
- Preserve evidence and maintain chain of custody
4. Fugitive Recovery Support
- Assist in fugitive recovery operations only when legally authorized
Operate in compliance with:
- Texas Occupations Code Chapter 1702
- Texas Code of Criminal Procedure
- Coordinate with licensed recovery agents and law enforcement when applicable
- No independent apprehension authority unless properly licensed and authorized
DPS & Legal Compliance
All officers must:
- Maintain valid Texas DPS license/commission
- Operate strictly within legal authority at all times
- Use force only when lawful, necessary, and justified
- Follow all use-of-force, detention, and firearm laws
Immediately report:
- Use of force incidents
- Arrests or legal issues
- License status changes
Required Qualifications
- Valid Texas DPS Security License (Level II, III, or IV as applicable)
- High school diploma or equivalent
- Ability to pass background check (as permitted by law)
- Strong communication and report writing skills
- Ability to remain calm under pressure
- Must be 18+ years old (unarmed), and/or 21+ years old (armed)
Preferred:
- Military, law enforcement, or prior security experience
- Executive protection or high-risk venue experience
- Firearms proficiency (for commissioned officers)
Operational Expectations
Officers are expected to:
- Maintain command presence at all times
- Operate with discipline and situational awareness
- Follow post orders and chain of command without deviation
- Remain on post until properly relieved
Perform effectively in:
- Crowded environments
- Volatile situations
- Extended or irregular shifts
Use of Force Standard
- De-escalation is the first priority when feasible
Force must be:
- Reasonable
- Necessary
- Legally justified
- Excessive or reckless force is strictly prohibited
Equipment Responsibility
Officers may be issued:
- Uniforms
- Radios / communication devices
- Body cameras
- Firearms (if commissioned)
All equipment must be:
- Maintained in serviceable condition
- Used only for authorized purposes
- Returned upon request or separation
Work Environment
Assignments may include:
- Nightclubs and bars
- Large-scale events
- Corporate or commercial properties
- High-risk or armed posts
Conditions may involve:
- Long hours
- Night/weekend shifts
- Exposure to confrontational situations
Discipline Standard
This is a performance-based role.
Failure to meet standards may result in:
- Immediate removal from assignment
- Reduction in hours
- Termination
Zero-tolerance violations include:
- Post abandonment
- Excessive force
- Firearm negligence
- Falsification of reports
Employment Status
Employment is at-will under Texas law.
Contra Guard reserves the right to:
- Reassign personnel
- Modify duties based on operational needs
- Terminate employment at any time
Final Standard
This role requires individuals who can:
- Operate under pressure
- Make sound decisions
- Maintain control in unpredictable environments
If you meet the standard, you will advance. If you don’t, you will be replaced.
Pay: $18.00 - $20.00 per hour
