About the Role:
The Pool Lifeguard for the summer season plays a crucial role in ensuring the safety and enjoyment of all pool patrons. The Pool Lifeguard will be responsible for enforcing pool rules and regulations, conducting regular safety checks, and responding to any emergencies that may arise. Additionally, the role includes organizing recreational activities and events to enhance the overall experience for guests. Ultimately, the Pool Lifeguard is dedicated to creating a welcoming atmosphere while prioritizing the health and safety of all visitors.
Minimum Qualifications:

Current certification in lifeguarding and CPR/AED.

Previous experience in a supervisory role, preferably in a recreational or aquatic setting.

Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
Preferred Qualifications:

Experience in organizing recreational programs or events.

Knowledge of pool maintenance and water chemistry.

First Aid certification.
Responsibilities:
-
Assist Director in collating and transporting program supplies.
-
Supervise Swim participants during daily activities
-
Supervise participants during program day, which includes lessons, Race for Chase, camp swim and open swim.

Evaluate and test camp swimmers and organize them according to their abilities.

Supervise daily check in and check out of swimmers as needed.

Maintain constant interaction with parents, swimmers and staff.

Responsible for maintaining discipline among swimmers and families.

Responsible for providing direction as needed.

Assist with and help supervise cleaning and sanitizing pool area.

Assist in running staff weekly Lost person drills, back boarding and any other necessary skills.

Implement pool safety access in event of inclement/hazardous weather.

Stay with swimmers and staff until they are picked up at end of the day.

Report to Recreation office.

Enforce pool rules and regulations to ensure a safe environment for all patrons.

Respond promptly to any incidents or emergencies, providing first aid and coordinating with emergency services as needed.
Skills:
The required skills for this position include strong leadership abilities, excellent communication skills, as well as the ability to enforce pool rules in a friendly yet authoritative manner. Problem-solving skills are necessary to address any emergencies or incidents that may occur, ensuring a swift and effective response. Knowledge of pool maintenance and safety protocols is crucial for conducting inspections and maintaining a safe environment. Preferred skills will enhance the guest experience by providing engaging activities that encourage community involvement.
