We are a family-owned funeral home serving multiple locations across rural Michigan. Our team is committed to providing thoughtful, personalized care to the families we serve. We’re currently seeking a highly self-motivated and extremely professional, licensed Funeral Director and Embalmer to join our close-knit and compassionate team.
Position Summary:
The ideal candidate will have at least five years of experience as a licensed funeral director in Michigan and will bring a kind, respectful, and professional presence to both their coworkers and the families they serve. This individual must be flexible, reliable, and willing to help cover funeral home operations across all of our locations. The position includes an on-call schedule and requires someone who is organized, personable, and passionate about meaningful service. Bonus points if you're growth-minded and open to learning new things.
Responsibilities Include:
- Arranging and directing funeral and memorial services with empathy and professionalism
- Embalming and preparation of decedents for viewing and services
- Coordinating with families, clergy, cemeteries, and other service providers
- Assisting with pre-planning and at-need arrangements
- Maintaining a clean and dignified environment in all locations
- Participating in an on-call rotation, including evenings and weekends
- Traveling between our funeral home locations as needed
Qualifications:
- Licensed Funeral Director and Embalmer in the state of Michigan
- Minimum of 5 years of experience in funeral service
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
- Compassionate, dependable, and respectful demeanor
- Ability to work well independently and as part of a team
- Valid driver’s license
- Flexibility to accommodate a rotating on-call schedule
