About Pro-Fab
Pro-Fab is a manufacturer of cleanroom and industrial furniture, building precision stainless steel workstations, carts, and support for DOE and Government entities.
We run a process-driven shop where accuracy, communication, and accountability matter at every step — and that starts with making sure the right materials are on the floor when production needs them.
The Role
We're hiring an experienced Purchasing Agent to own our procurement and logistics process end-to-end. This is a high-paced, detail-heavy role for someone who can juggle multiple active jobs, beat the estimate on material costs, and hold vendors accountable to their delivery commitments. You'll be the connection between engineering, sales, the shop floor, and our supplier base — keeping production fluid and on schedule.
What You'll Do
Purchasing
- Pull prints from engineering, starting with the most recent job folders
- Review prints and match required material sizes against the project estimate
- Flag any discrepancies, shortages, or problems to the sales team for resolution
- Once a job is cleared, place orders for raw materials and hardware
- Negotiate pricing and lead times to come in under estimate wherever possible
Vendor & Delivery Management
- Communicate with vendors on ETAs and confirm shipping commitments
- Track every open PO and proactively follow up on at-risk deliveries
- Hold vendors accountable when promises slip — keep them in check
- Receive inbound materials and sort them to the correct areas of the shop
Shipping & Logistics
- Set up outbound freight shipments to customers using multiple carrier accounts and shipping portals
- Coordinate pickups, BOLs, and delivery schedules to meet customer requirements
Administrative
- Compile completed purchasing packets and turn them over to the bookkeeper
- Maintain clean, accurate records of POs, receipts, and pricing on every job
