Shift: Nights | 12-Hour Shifts (7:00 PM – 7:30 AM)
Guaranteed Hours: 36 Hours Per Week
We are currently seeking an experienced Registered Nurse (RN) – Labor & Delivery (L&D) for an exciting travel nursing assignment in Great Barrington, Massachusetts. This opportunity is ideal for experienced L&D nurses with strong Postpartum/Mother-Baby experience who are passionate about providing high-quality care to mothers and newborns.
Position Details
- Position: Registered Nurse (RN) – Labor & Delivery (L&D)
- Location: Great Barrington, MA
- Care Setting: Acute Care Hospital
- Shift: Nights | 12-Hour Shifts (7:00 PM – 7:30 AM)
- Schedule: 36 Guaranteed Hours Per Week
- Start Date: September 8, 2026
- Weekend Requirement: Every Other Weekend
- Holiday Requirement: Required as Needed
- On-Call: Yes / TBD
- EMR System: Meditech
- Orientation: 8 Hours Non-Billable
Requirements:
- Minimum 2 years of current Labor & Delivery experience – Required
- Postpartum / Mother-Baby experience – Required
- BSN degree – Required
- Active Massachusetts RN License – Required at submission
- Current AHA BLS Certification – Required
- Current NRP Certification – Required
- Current STABLE Certification – Required
- Traveler must have a reliable personal vehicle
- Permanent address must be included with the profile
- Labor & Delivery Skills Checklist completed within the last 1 year
- Postpartum Skills Checklist completed within the last 1 year
- Mother-Baby Skills Checklist completed within the last 1 year
- One supervisory signed reference from within the past 2 years of employment
- Updated work history and complete professional profile required
Responsibilities
- Perform comprehensive assessments of laboring, postpartum, and mother-baby patients.
- Monitor maternal and fetal conditions and promptly identify changes in patient status.
- Provide safe, compassionate nursing care throughout the labor and delivery process.
- Assist with vaginal and Cesarean deliveries as appropriate.
- Administer medications and treatments according to physician orders and established protocols.
- Provide postpartum and newborn care.
- Monitor patients for complications and initiate appropriate interventions.
- Support breastfeeding and provide patient/family education.
- Collaborate with obstetricians, midwives, lactation consultants, and interdisciplinary healthcare teams.
- Develop and update individualized plans of care.
- Maintain accurate clinical documentation using the Meditech EMR.
- Educate patients and families regarding postpartum, newborn, and discharge care.
- Maintain a safe environment for mothers and newborns.
- Demonstrate strong communication, critical thinking, and organizational skills.
- Follow hospital policies, procedures, and applicable nursing standards.
