Title: Instructional Leadership Team (ILT)
FUNCTION: Systematically guide and direct the improvement of instruction, leading to higher student achievement. Directly responsible to the Building Principal.
LOCATION:
Bellingham High School (2 positions)
DUTIES/RESPONSIBILITIES:

Works as a member of the school instructional leadership team to identify needs, address problems, and improve student achievement outcomes.

Participates in and helps foster a collaborative professional culture that supports self-reflection and analysis of school instructional practices and student outcomes.

Facilitates the use of the data inquiry cycle to analyze data (e.g., MCAS, common assessments, benchmarks, diagnostic assessments), and identify instructional needs that positively impact student learning outcomes.

Following the structures provided by building and district administrators, provide input on the agendas for Professional Learning Communities (PLCs).

Encourages and supports research, experimentation, professional development, and a variety of teaching methodologies and approaches to enhance teaching and learning.

May be asked to assist in the interviewing of new school personnel.

Participates actively in and leads professional development to reach school and district improvement objectives.

If scheduled, attend a planning meeting in the summer, which they will be compensated at the contractual rate.

Members of the ILT are expected to attend up to two (2) meetings per month beyond the contract day. Four (4) of these meetings a year will be full district ILT meetings. In the months that we have District ILT scheduled, only one building-based ILT meeting will be scheduled.
District ILT Meetings (4 meetings a year) will take place from 2:45 to 4:30. Elementary school ILT members will be released at 2:30 to facilitate the 2:45 start time.
