Position: Children’s Teacher
Reports to: Program Director
Classification: Part-time, up to 5 hours/week
Schedule: Availability required on Mondays from 5:00-8:00 PM during the programming year, with additional remote preparation time as needed
Pay Range: Starting $80/week, based on experience
Job Description & Expectations
The Children’s Teacher’s primary responsibility is planning, teaching, and working with children during weekly Monday Meets programming (August - June). This role is responsible for preparing and leading a one-hour lesson that includes Bible story time, age-appropriate activities, crafts, and creating an environment full of grace, love, and mercy.
The ideal candidate has a heart for ministry with mothers and their children, loves Jesus Christ, and is committed to His Church.
Key Responsibilities
- Provide leadership and supervision in a classroom setting for children under age 8
- Develop and lead Bible-based lesson plans that support program objectives
- Facilitate age-appropriate activities, crafts, and group interaction
- Create a safe, welcoming, and engaging classroom environment
- Work collaboratively with co-teachers and volunteers to support classroom needs
- Prepare, print, and organize materials needed for weekly programming
- Maintain professionalism and confidentiality in all interactions
- Attend staff meetings as required
- Demonstrate initiative and the ability to work independently
- Perform additional duties as needed to support program operations
Qualifications & Skills
- Teaching Certificate required; bachelor’s degree or higher is an asset
- Experience working with children in a classroom, church, or ministry setting preferred
- Strong organizational and classroom management skills
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills
- Ability to work collaboratively as part of a team
- Proficiency in Google Drive and basic office technology
- Reliable personal transportation required for job-related tasks
