Job Summary
We are seeking a dedicated and versatile Nurse to provide compassionate, high-quality care across all shifts. The ideal candidate will possess extensive clinical expertise, including critical care experience and proficiency with electronic health record (EHR) systems. As a Nurse, you will be responsible for delivering comprehensive patient assessments, administering medications, managing acute and chronic conditions, and ensuring compliance with healthcare regulations. Your role is vital in supporting our mission to promote health, safety, and well-being for our residents.
Responsibilities
- Conduct thorough patient assessments, including vital signs, physical examinations, and physiological evaluations to determine individual care needs.
- Administer medications, injections, IV infusions, and perform catheterizations following established protocols while maintaining patient safety.
- Manage complex cases involving acute pain management, infectious disease care, dementia and Alzheimer's care, and memory support.
- Utilize EMR (Electronic Medical Records) and EHR (Electronic Health Records) systems such as Cerner or Athenahealth to document patient information accurately and efficiently.
- Collaborate with interdisciplinary teams in discharge planning, case management, and coordination of post-acute or hospice care services.
- Implement infection control procedures and aseptic techniques to maintain a sterile environment during procedures like suturing or spinal taps.
- Provide patient education on health coaching topics such as nutrition, medication administration, and disease management tailored to individual needs.
- Support working with diverse populations including individuals with developmental disabilities or children requiring specialized nursing interventions.
Requirements
- Valid nursing license with current registration in the applicable state; additional certifications such as BLS (Basic Life Support) are required.
- Proven experience in critical care settings such as ICU or Level I Trauma Centers; hospital medicine or emergency room experience is highly desirable.
- Familiarity with ICD-9/ICD-10 coding systems for accurate medical documentation and billing purposes.
- Experience working in various healthcare environments including long-term care facilities, assisted living communities, or outpatient clinics.
- Strong knowledge of medical terminology, physiology, pharmacology related to pain management and medication administration.
- Ability to operate EMR/EHR systems efficiently; experience with Cerner or Athenahealth platforms is preferred.
