Practice Overview
Welcome to a different kind of healthcare experience. We are an independent, single-physician Family Medicine and Lifestyle Medicine practice dedicated to delivering high-quality, patient-centered care. Our mission is to help patients thrive by combining evidence-based primary care with the pillars of lifestyle medicine (nutrition, movement, sleep, and stress management).
We pride ourselves on an exceptional patient experience and a positive workplace culture. While our days are active and productive, we consciously cultivate an environment that is collaborative, supportive, and low-stress.
Position Summary
- Role: Medical Assistant (MA) or Nurse (LPN / RN)
- Status: Part-Time (approx. 10-20 hours per week; specific schedule to be discussed)
- Location: In-Office
We are seeking a versatile, highly autonomous, and detail-oriented professional who thrives on building meaningful relationships with patients. Working side-by-side with the physician in a small-office environment, you will handle a true hybrid role: managing key business operations (including basic billing) while remaining fully hands-on clinically, with the capability to run patient testing independently.
Key ResponsibilitiesHands-On Clinical Testing & Support
- Independent Testing: Set up, execute, and document entire clinical testing exams independently (including EKGs, spirometry, point-of-care lab tests, and vision/hearing screenings).
- Patient Intake: Room patients, take accurate vital signs, document chief complaints, and reconcile medications in the EMR.
- Procedures & Care: Assist the physician with minor in-office procedures, administer injections/immunizations, and manage clinical inventory/supplies.
- Lifestyle Support: Provide patients with practice-approved resources and educational materials regarding lifestyle interventions.
Administrative & Billing Operations
- Billing Support: Handle day-to-day administrative billing tasks, which may include verifying insurance eligibility, submitting basic claims, processing patient payments, and managing billing inquiries.
- Care Coordination: Manage specialist referrals, prior authorizations, and prescription refills.
- Triage & Communication: Manage clinical phone calls and secure patient portal messages, triaging requests directly with the physician.
What We Are Looking For
The Ideal Candidate: You are a true generalist who loves both patient care and administrative puzzle-solving. You are completely comfortable stepping into an exam room to run diagnostic testing completely on your own, and equally comfortable navigating billing and insurance tasks. You possess a calm, warm demeanor, can manage a steady flow of patients without feeling overwhelmed, and are passionate about delivering "white-glove" customer service.
- Qualifications:
- Certified/Registered Medical Assistant (CMA/RMA) OR Licensed Nurse (LPN/RN).
- Minimum of 1–2 years of experience in an outpatient primary care setting
- High school diploma or equivalent
- Knowledge of medical terminology and proficiency in EHR systems.
- OSHA and HIPAA compliance knowledge.
- Skills:
- Familiarity with medical billing codes (ICD-10, CPT) and basic insurance navigation.
- Proficiency with Electronic Medical Records (EMR) software.
- Excellent communication skills, strong organization, and a calm, warm demeanor under pressure.
- Core Competencies:
- Maintain accuracy in patient records and ensure compliance with medical
- protocols.
- Effectively interacting with patients and medical staff, fostering a welcoming and informative atmosphere.
- Work cohesively with healthcare teams to deliver comprehensive patient care.
- Respond to changing clinical demands and patient needs in a fast-paced environment.
- Demonstrate empathy and understanding while addressing patient concerns and
- inquiries.
Why You’ll Love Working Here
- No Burnout Culture: We pace our schedule to ensure high-quality care, meaning you actually have time to connect with patients without feeling rushed.
- Impactful Work: Be a part of a practice that focuses on root-cause healing and long-term wellness, not just treating symptoms.
- Collaborative Environment: Work directly with the physician-owner in a flat organization where your voice and ideas are valued.
