JOB SUMMARY
The General Labor employee supports daily manufacturing operations by performing a variety of production, material handling, and administrative support tasks. Employees may be assigned to different departments based on business needs and may have opportunities to cross-train in areas such as finishing, inventory control, receiving, shipping, and purchasing support. This position requires flexibility, attention to detail, and a commitment to safety, quality, and teamwork.
KEY RESPONSIBILITIES AND ACCOUNTABILITIES
- Perform general production and manufacturing support activities as assigned.
- Assist with material handling, inventory movement, packaging, and product preparation.
- Operate forklifts (Hi-Lo) and other material handling equipment safely and efficiently to move materials, supplies, and finished products throughout the facility.
- Load and unload materials from trucks, storage areas, and production departments.
- Assist with stocking shelves, inventory management, and maintaining inventory accuracy.
- Create part numbers and conduct product research as needed.
- Place orders for facility supplies and materials as directed.
- Assist with various support functions within the Purchasing Department as needed.
- Ensure inventory, materials, and supplies are properly identified and labeled.
- Support receiving and shipping functions as needed.
- Utilize computer systems for data entry, recordkeeping, inventory tracking, and purchasing support.
- Maintain organized, clean, and orderly warehouse, storage, and supply areas.
- Support finishing operations, including cleaning, grinding, deburring, inspection, and related tasks as assigned.
- Perform janitorial duties as needed, including cleaning bathrooms, breakrooms, warehouse areas, and supply rooms.
- Accurately complete required paperwork, production records, and documentation.
- Communicate effectively with supervisors, team members, vendors, and other departments.
- Cross-train in multiple departments to support operational needs.
- Follow all company safety policies, procedures, and quality standards.
- Perform other duties as assigned.

EDUCATION and/or EXPERIENCE
Required:
- Strong verbal and written communication skills.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Excel and Word.
- High school diploma or equivalent.
- Valid driver's license with a satisfactory driving record.
- Ability to lift up to 50 pounds without assistance.
- Ability to work independently and in a team environment.
- Strong work ethic, reliability, and attention to detail.
Preferred:
- Previous experience in a manufacturing environment.
- Experience working with ERP systems.
- Strong organizational and time management skills.
- Forklift certification or previous forklift operating experience (training available for the right candidate).
WORKING CONDITIONS
We have multiple openings for this position, including 1st and 2nd shift.
The working conditions are normal for a manufacturing environment. While performing the duties of this job, the employee is regularly required to stand for long periods of time. The employee frequently is required to walk; stoop and bend; and work on overhead structures.
Work may involve lifting of materials and product up to 100 pounds maximum with frequent lifting and/or carrying of objects weighing up to 50 pounds.
Working in this environment requires the use of safety equipment that may include but not limited to: safety glasses, hearing protectors, safety shoes, welding hood, sleeves, protective clothing, etc.
