In this role, you will be the go-to expert for customizing clothing, ensuring every piece meets high standards of quality and style. Your expertise in sewing and garment construction will help create a seamless shopping experience, making each customer feel special and satisfied with their tailored look.
Duties
- Measure customers accurately to determine alterations needed, providing expert advice on fit and style adjustments
- Use sewing machines and hand-sewing techniques to alter garments, including hemming, taking in or letting out seams, and repairing tears or damages
- Ensure all alterations are completed efficiently while maintaining high-quality craftsmanship
- Communicate clearly with customers about their tailoring requests, timelines, and any additional recommendations
- Maintain a clean, organized workspace with all sewing tools and equipment in optimal condition
- Keep detailed records of alterations performed for each customer to ensure consistency and accountability
- Collaborate with team members to manage workload during busy periods and uphold excellent customer service standards
Experience
- Prior experience working in fashion retail or a tailoring environment is highly preferred
- Strong sewing skills with proficiency in operating sewing machines and hand-stitching techniques
- Knowledge of garment construction principles to make precise adjustments and repairs
- Excellent customer service skills with the ability to listen carefully and communicate effectively
- Basic math skills for taking measurements, calculating fabric needs, and adjusting patterns accurately
- Familiarity with sewing machines and garment repair tools is essential for delivering professional results

Pay: $25.18 - $30.33 per hour
