Responsibilities
- Deliver engaging classroom lessons on traffic laws, safety procedures, vehicle maintenance, and industry regulations tailored to adult learners
- Conduct practical driving sessions on various commercial vehicles, providing clear instructions and constructive feedback
- Develop customized training plans that address individual student needs and skill levels
- Manage classroom activities effectively, maintaining discipline and encouraging active participation
- Assess student progress through evaluations, tests, and practical demonstrations to ensure competency
- Maintain accurate records of student attendance, performance, and certification status
- Communicate clearly with students, colleagues, and regulatory agencies to ensure compliance and support continuous improvement
Requirements
- Proven experience in driving commercial vehicles such as trucks, buses, or delivery vans with a valid CDL (Commercial Driver’s License) or equivalent certification
- Strong teaching skills with the ability to engage adult learners in both classroom and practical settings
- Excellent communication skills to convey instructions effectively and foster a positive learning atmosphere
- Classroom management experience to oversee diverse groups of students confidently
- Knowledge of industry safety standards, traffic laws, and licensing procedures relevant to commercial driving
- Ability to work flexible hours including evenings or weekends as needed for training sessions
- Prior experience working with students or in adult education environments is highly desirable
