Scheurer, a critical access rural hospital, is seeking a registered nurse to work as a full time employee in the Surgical Services Department. The Ambulatory Surgery RN is responsible for the delivery of safe, effective, and quality patient-family centered care in Surgical Services Ambulatory area for all patient populations.
The responsibilities of the Surgical Services RN include but are not limited to:

Rotating through all specialties of Surgical Services (Ambulatory Surgery, Recovery Room)

Preparing patients for surgery.

Collaboration and caring for the patient during their Operative episode.

Verification of Universal Protocol
-
Giving SBARQ report
-
Ensuring all specimens are handled correctly
-
Documentation on electronic record
-
Restocking of supplies and care of equipment
-
Functioning as a team player
-
Recovering patients from surgery.
-
Discharging patients from Ambulatory Surgery
Requirements:

The candidate must be a graduate from an accredited school of nursing
-
Possess a current RN license from the Michigan State board of Nursing

Two years of perioperative nurse experience
-
BLS, ACLS, and PALS certifications must be obtained within one year of hire date if not already achieved
