Role Summary (read this first)
We're looking for a Nurse Practitioner (NP) who can deliver excellent remote clinical support while thriving in a tech-heavy startup environment.
This is a PRN (as-needed) position.
Shifts are offered based on patient volume and operational need. This role is not a part-time or full-time position and is not intended to evolve into one.
IMPORTANT: Multi-state APRN/NP licensure is REQUIRED for this role (you must hold active, unrestricted NP/APRN licenses in multiple U.S. states, and be willing/able to add additional state licenses as needed). We hire carefully for clinical judgment, clear communication, and comfort with modern digital workflows.
What You'll Do (Responsibilities)
- Provide remote clinical assessment, triage, and guidance via secure telehealth tools (video/phone, secure messaging).
- Review patient-reported symptoms, history, and available clinical documentation to support safe, appropriate next steps.
- Develop and adjust patient care plans within your state-specific scope of practice.
- Coordinate with internal clinical team members and communicate effectively with external provider offices when needed (records, referrals, follow-ups).
- Document clearly and consistently in company systems (EHR/CRM-style workflows), supporting quality, safety, and continuity of care.
- Apply evidence-based practice and participate in quality improvement (protocol updates, case review, safety feedback loops).
- Collaborate cross-functionally with product/engineering/operations to improve clinical workflows and patient experience (you'll help shape the tools you use).
- Support compliance-oriented workflows, including verifying patient state location at time of service and practicing only where authorized.
Required Qualifications (must-have)
- Nurse Practitioner (NP) with graduate education (MSN, DNP, or equivalent) and national NP certification in your specialty area.
- ACTIVE, unrestricted APRN/NP license(s) in good standing in MULTIPLE U.S. states (multi-state APRN/NP licensure is required).
- Ability and willingness to obtain additional state APRN/NP licenses as the patient footprint requires (company may provide support/reimbursement).
- Active RN license in good standing.
- 3+ years of NP clinical experience (telehealth, primary care, geriatrics, care coordination, or complex case management experience strongly valued).
- Strong clinical judgment, patient-first communication, and comfort explaining complex issues in plain language.
- Strong documentation habits and comfort working in digital systems (secure messaging, video visits, task-based workflows).
- Must reside in the state of Massachusetts. Candidates located outside of MA will not be considered.
- Authorized to work in the United States.
Preferred Qualifications (nice-to-have)
- Experience in telehealth, virtual-first care, or remote patient support models.
- Experience working with Medicare / Medicare Advantage populations and/or complex, multi-morbidity cases.
- Experience helping design or improve clinical protocols, decision support, or quality standards in a scaling organization.
- Comfort working in fast-changing startup environments (ambiguity, rapid iteration, cross-functional collaboration).
Remote-Work, Equipment, and IT Expectations
To protect patients and support high-quality virtual care, you will need:
- A private, quiet workspace suitable for confidential clinical conversations.
- Reliable high-speed internet capable of stable video visits.
- Comfort using security best practices (multi-factor authentication, secure networks, device updates).
- Ability to use company-approved telehealth and secure communication tools (HIPAA-aligned workflows).
