About the Role
We're looking for a hands-on Gelato and Baking Production Assistant to join our kitchen team. This is a physical, craft-focused role for someone who loves the process of making things from scratch — small-batch gelato, house-made sauces, and baked goods — and takes pride in quality and consistency.
What You'll Do
- Produce small-batch gelato from start to finish, including preparing bases, churning, extracting, and proper batch storage
- Make fruit, chocolate, and caramel sauces and other inclusions used in gelato flavors
- Measure and weigh ingredients precisely, following established recipes and batch records
- Operate and clean production equipment, including batch freezers, blast chillers, mixers, and ovens
- Maintain a clean, organized, and food-safe production area throughout each shift
- Monitor ingredient freshness and rotate stock using FIFO practices
- Label, date, and store finished products correctly
- Follow all food safety and sanitation standards
- Assist with inventory counts and flag low ingredient supplies
What We're Looking For
- Comfortable on your feet for extended periods and able to lift up to 40-50 lbs
- Experience in a kitchen, bakery, or food production environment preferred
- Strong attention to detail and consistency in following recipes and procedures
- Reliable, punctual, and able to work independently once trained
- Comfortable working with kitchen equipment and willing to learn new techniques
- Food handler certification (or willingness to obtain one)
- A genuine interest in gelato-making, baking, or food craftsmanship is a plus
Pay: $25.00 per hour
Work Location: In person
