We are a well-established, growing private optometry practice with three locations seeking an experienced Medical Billing Specialist to manage our medical and vision insurance billing process. This is an excellent opportunity for a detail-oriented professional who enjoys working independently while collaborating with a supportive team.
Responsibilities
- Manage the complete revenue cycle for medical and vision insurance claims using OfficeMate, ExamWriter, and TriZetto
- Submit, monitor, and reconcile insurance claims accurately and efficiently
- Investigate, appeal, and resolve denied or rejected claims
- Follow up on unpaid claims and outstanding insurance balances
- Post insurance payments and maintain accurate billing documentation
- Communicate with providers, office staff, insurance carriers, and patients to resolve billing issues
- Ensure timely claim submission and compliance with payer guidelines
- Identify trends in claim denials and recommend process improvements
Qualifications
- Minimum 2 years of medical billing experience required
- Optometry or ophthalmology billing experience strongly preferred
- Experience with OfficeMate, ExamWriter, and/or TriZetto preferred
- Working knowledge of medical and vision insurance plans, CPT, ICD-10, and insurance claim processing
- Strong organizational, problem-solving, and communication skills
- Ability to work independently while managing multiple priorities
- High level of accuracy and attention to detail
