The Clinical Director is responsible for implementing Lowkey and Serene regulations, overseeing treatment services, prevention resource services, and providing direct services to clients of Lowkey and Serene.

A master’s degree is required.

Required Skills
- Excellent organizational, verbal, written, interpersonal, and problem-solving abilities.
- Familiarity with MATRIX
- Experience working with co-occurring population.
- Must be familiar with Microsoft Word, Excel, and Access.
Experience
- Required supervising experience
- Recent job experience in the substance use field within one year prior to hire date.
- Experience providing direct client contact
- Demonstrated competencies in counseling individuals with substance use and mental health concerns.
- Experience facilitating/ supervising MATRIX groups

Position Responsibilities
Program Leadership and Compliance
- Maintain and update the Substance Use Program’s Treatment policy and procedure manuals.
- Ensure program policies and procedures comply with current New Mexico regulations and accreditation standards.
- Monitor staff implementation of policies and procedures through regular file reviews.
- Support orientation for Substance Use Program staff and ensure documentation is completed.
- Assume responsibility for ongoing planning, development, expansion, or retrenchment of Substance Use programming.
- Ensuring coompletion of intake paperwork
Staff Supervision and Administration
- Update job descriptions for Substance Use Program staff.
- Complete staff performance evaluations in accordance with organizational policies and procedures.
- Assist the Executive Director with interviewing, hiring, and termination processes for program staff.
- Conduct weekly formal supervision with Substance Use Program staff.
- Monitor assigned staff progress toward satisfactory billable hours.
- Set program staff objectives to support agency and department strategic goals.
Meetings, Reporting, and Quality Assurance
- Prepare and present the annual report and service plan to the Board of Directors.
- Attend program site visits from external monitors and provide assistance as appropriate.
- Participate in weekly Executive Staff meetings and weekly supervision with the Executive Director.
- Participate in quarterly QA/UR meetings and oversee Substance Use Program reporting documentation and staff follow-up.
- Serve on the Safety Committee until further notice.
Clinical and Client Services
- Provide an average of 10–15 billable hours per week of direct substance use counseling to adults, families, and couples; this may fluctuate based on departmental needs.
- Maintain client records daily in accordance with applicable regulations and organizational policies and procedures.
- Provide treatment interventions that address phase of recovery, level of activity, severity, disability, and motivation related to substance use and mental health concerns.
- Identify when substance use and mental health diagnoses coexist and ensure each diagnosis is appropriately addressed.
- Maintain knowledge of mental health diagnoses and the general relationship between psychotropic medications, substance use treatment, addiction, and mental health concerns.
- Refer co-occurring clients to the appropriate level of care when needs exceed the staff member’s professional ability, and guide supervisees to do the same.
- Complete required forms, reports, correspondence and treatment of clients in a timely manner.
Safety, Training, and Other Duties
- Document unusual incidents and forward them to the Executive Director, with copies to the immediate supervisor and Safety Director.
- Maintain active license and certification status, if applicable.
- Participate in intra-agency training events when held by the agency.
- Complete required continuing education hours and maintain current continuing education credits required for all job-related licenses, certifications, and funding providers.
- Further professional growth as directed by the Executive Director.
- Will be on a rotating basis with owner to for cris calls during nights and weekends
- Accept other duties as deemed appropriate by the Executive Director.
