Salary: $65,000 - $75,00
Position Overview
Lead the tool and die department, overseeing design, build, repair and maintenance of production tooling, dies and molds. Ensure on-time delivery of accurate, durable tooling while managing shop operations, staff and cross-functional collaboration with engineering, production and suppliers.
Key Responsibilities

Plan, schedule and prioritize tooling projects; manage day-to-day shop operations

Supervise and develop toolmakers, machinists and technicians

Oversee die/mold design, build and repair to spec; ensure quality standards for setup, programming and inspection

Coordinate CNC, EDM/wire EDM, lathe and manual machining

Partner with engineering on tool design, DFMEA and production launches

Manage budgets, capital projects, spare tooling inventory and vendors

Drive continuous improvement and root cause analysis to cut downtime, cost and scrap

Ensure safety, environmental and quality compliance (ISO/TS)

Support injection molding and stamping programs; handle quick-turn repairs

Maintain tooling documentation in ERP/PDM
Qualifications
-
5+ years in tool & die/manufacturing
-
2+ years supervisory experience
-
Hands-on expertise in tool/die construction, repair and mold design

Proficient in CNC programming, EDM/wire EDM, lathe/milling, precision measurement

Skilled in reading tooling drawings, GD&T, and CAD (SolidWorks, AutoCAD)

Strong troubleshooting, leadership and vendor management skills

Associate degree/technical diploma in Tool & Die or related field, or equivalent apprenticeship

Preferred: broader exposure to tool design, molding and machining roles; familiarity with ISO/TS, ERP/MRP and MS Office
