Like crafts and tinkering? Enjoy working with kids? Experience with art from recycled materials? Comfortable with basic electronics? Interested in digital design? Our science, engineering and makerspace children's education program has several openings.
Dazzling Discoveries, our hands-on, project based after school program and Skill Mill NYC, our maker space storefront, has openings for educators who can work with children and help us with various projects. You would be working with children ages 5-14 on creative recycled art, science, electronics, robotics and engineering activities as part of our after school and camp programs in Manhattan. Course content, lesson plans and all materials will be provided for you but we welcome ideas and participation in the curriculum.
Teaching degree NOT necessary. We need enthusiastic people who have experience working with groups of children. Classes are all in Manhattan.
This position is in person and requires local Manhattan travel. Could be part time, full time or a specific time frame residency. You MUST be available in the later afternoons.
Our facilities are located in Manhattan. Access to our equipment is an option to anyone who wants to learn and use 3D printers, laser cutter and other maker space resources.
