Summary
We are seeking a motivated and enthusiastic individual to assist in coaching and supporting the cheerleading team at Twin Falls High School during the upcoming season. The Assistant Cheer Advisor will work closely with the Head Cheer Advisor to promote team spirit, develop cheer routines, and ensure a positive and inclusive environment for all team members. This seasonal position offers a unique opportunity to contribute to the growth and success of the cheer program while fostering school pride.
Responsibilities
- Assist the Head Cheer Advisor in planning and organizing cheer practices, events, and performances.
- Help develop and teach cheer routines, stunts, and choreography that align with school spirit and athletic events.
- Support team members in their physical training and skill development, ensuring safety and proper technique.
- Foster teamwork, sportsmanship, and a positive attitude among cheerleaders.
- Participate in team meetings and provide input on strategies for improving team performance and morale.
- Assist in managing team logistics, including uniforms, equipment, and travel arrangements for events.
- Communicate effectively with team members, parents, and school administration regarding schedules, events, and expectations.
- Attend all practices, games, and events as required by the Head Cheer Advisor.
- Help promote and maintain a positive image of the cheer program within the school and the community.
Requirements
- Previous experience in cheerleading or coaching is preferred.
- Strong knowledge of cheerleading techniques, stunts, and choreography.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills to effectively interact with students, parents, and school staff.
- Ability to motivate and inspire high school students while fostering a supportive team environment.
- Strong organizational skills and the ability to manage multiple tasks effectively.
- First Aid and CPR certification
- Must be available for the duration of the cheer season, including evenings and weekends.
- A passion for promoting school spirit and a commitment to the development of student-athletes.
This is an “at will” position in that the employer or employee may terminate employment at any time for any reason consistent with applicable state or federal law. All recommendations are tentative offers. Employment is contingent upon board approval and successful completion of federal background check and drug-free workplace pre-employment screening.
